Space Observatory Industry Under Threat

Stratosphere observing and monitoring organization World View has initiated a postponement of its innovative industry strategies. The company which focuses on shedding light on changes that occur on our planet from the stratosphere has urged its workers to shift their working activities from home. The decision is a move aiming to reduce interaction between the company workers during this coronavirus season 

The organization that recently established its so-named Stratollite atmospheric balloon platform will have to stop operations until the pandemic clears through. Their invention aims to provide remote-controlled monitoring at high altitude levels as well as other services offered by spacecraft in general. The company revealed that it would start its operations by flying a range of its balloons in a “loop” or flightpath in the Northern regions and parts of Central America. The business anticipates that its vision of having a collection of Stratollites that travel in the earth’s orbit will happen soon. Among its fleet of ranged balloons is a fleet that provides images with a resolution of 5 cm. These are comparatively better photos compared to images captured from satellites.

According to the company Vice president, Tom Pirrone, the project is well into its projected launch timeline. Pirrone gave this statement during a concept viewing of the project at the previous Next-Generation Suborbital Researchers Conference in Broomfield, Colorado. He confirms that the sector is currently a competitive and high-margin company.

At that point in the summer, World View anticipated that Stratollites would proceed with one or more launches on this expected track that would eventually rise to 20 launches at a time. Ryan further continues to state that the legislative orders announced have a profound effect on how the business will run from then. However, he remains optimistic that things will get back to normal after the coronavirus scare.

Operations at Intelsat satellite resume subsequently to the docking of the robotic servicer

The Intelsat spacecraft for communication, which has been running low of fuel, return to its commercial operations at 36,000 kilometers above the Atlantic Ocean after it received the assistant from the new servicing satellite at the beginning of the year.  

This mission extension vehicle was first of its kind; construction of the satellite took place in Virginia by Northrop Grumman on 25th February with Intelsat 901 satellite. The spacecraft finished its first link-up between satellites in the geosynchronous orbit, which is the region above the equator where the movement of satellites with speed equals the speed of the earth’s rotation.

The link-up was automatic and occurred on-board through the navigation sensor in combination with the orchestrated with the teams in the ground. The activity marked the first satellite connection, which is autonomous with other objects in the space that did not have docking design.

The mission extension vehicle owned by Northrop Grumman controlled the propulsion and the attitude management duties for the Intelsat 901 satellite. The satellite launching was in June the year 2001 aboard the European Ariane 4 rocket and had designed with a lifespan of 13 years. The spacecraft now has the capacity of delivering services to the people but with retire in the coming days without Northrop Grumman’s help of servicing it.

The Intelsat is currently at a position along the equator of the earth at 27.5 degrees west longitude, the area which it relays the trans-Atlantic television, data, traffic, and voice control.

He added that the company is proud to be the inventors of the space fueling; he is the chief service officer at Northrop Grumman. Mike said the company has projected the increase in demand for the connectivity services in the world and maintains the experience they have with their customers through the development of innovative technology like the MEV-1, which helped the company to meet its target and needs.

After docking of the Intelsat 901 at the end of February, The MEV-1 satellite servicer plotted the communications satellite from a point above the Pacific Ocean, which is the current operating position above Atlantic through the help of the Ultra-efficiency ion thruster.  MEV-1 nudged Intelsat 901 back over the equator from the earlier position of the orbit that had inclined at 1.6 degrees.

NASA’s Orion Team Capsule Reaches Florida to Prepare for Test Flight around Moon
